What Does an EKG Technician Do?

Every cardiac care team has a physician at the top and a nurse at the bedside, but there's a third figure most patients barely notice who holds the diagnostic thread together. The electrocardiogram (EKG) technician runs the test that starts almost every heart workup in the country.
