Clinical Requirements
- For Tech in Surgery Certification (TS-C) by NCCT, they are required to complete 125 Surgical Cases in 24 months of passing the certification exam

Meet Your Surgical Technologist Instructor

Rob Nagel
Rob Nagel has over 10 years of experience working in the operating room. He received his Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh in 2010. He started work in the OR at UPMC Presbyterian, where he specialized in Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, CT Transplant, Robotics and Trauma Surgery. In 2015 Rob received the Certified Periopertive Nurse Certification (CNOR). Since 2016, Rob has been the Cardiothoracic Surgery Team Lead at WVU Medicine's Heart and Vascular Institute. He has been a mentor and preceptor for Operating Room nurses and Surgical Techs. Rob has helped train OR teams from around the world and has a passion for teaching!
