Students must have HS Diploma or GED and must be 18 years of age or older at the time of enrollment, and must present a valid ID for verification.
The goal of the pharmacy technician program is to provide students with the educational and clinical training in preparation for entry-level employment. Students will develop professional skills in customer service, prescription preparation, patient profiling and drug inventory maintenance. The Pharmacy Technician program will prepare you for the roles and responsibilities of working in retail, call centers, hospitals, and pharmacies.
You will learn a variety of entry-level pharmacy operation skills, as well as procedures, interpersonal skills, and regulatory standards. You will learn patient and medication safety procedures for handling medications and filling orders, procurement, billing, reimbursement, and inventory management. You’ll also gain familiarity with pharmacy technology and informatics database software.
Upon completion of the program requirements, students will be eligible to sit for the ExCPT exam with NHA to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
